In the 1970s, near Marseilles, brothers Maurice and Georges Marciano invented a line of women's clothing for their ready-to-wear boutique, launching the beginnings of the Guess brand. With their brothers Paul and Armand, they founded a denim trouser factory in California in 1981.

Guess became a designer of indigo jeans for women, blending European style with American materials. Today, the brand is a global brand with iconic collections for men, women and children.
